London Travel Guide

WHERE TO SLEEP

  • Soho, located in London’s West End, is a bustling district known for its trendy and diverse nightlife and its proud LGBTQ+ community. With jazz bars, cocktail bars, and pubs of all sorts, there’s something for everyone all within walking distance.
  • Covent Garden is a short walk from Soho and Chinatown and is great for those who love the theatre, or just the arts in general. I absolutely LOVED the shopping but if you’re a foodie, then this is the area for you! Covent Garden is home to some of the best restaurants in London, boasting not only magnificent British food, but also a variety of restaurants serving international dishes.
  • Kensington is located southwest of London’s West End. It’s an upscale neighborhood filled with stunning residences and posh boutique shops. Home to some of London’s best museums, Kensington is perfect for families.

Maar’s Pick

  • I stayed at Mini’s Hotel Soho when visiting London in 2019 and absolutely loved this location. This hotel is in the heart of Soho and near so many restaurants and bars. This made it pretty loud at night but I was out every night so did not bother me.
  • Covent Garden… like I said, I LOVED the shopping….😉

WHERE TO EAT

  • Dishoom – Indian restaurant with a modern, trendy twist, great for lunch or dinner
  • Sushi Samba – contemporary dinner date with a stunning view of London’s financial district
  • Sketch – this place is a work of art, literally. Perfect for High Tea or Dinner
  • Farm Girl – adorable brunch spot in Notting Hill, just get there early or prepare to wait!
  • STK – American Steakhouse for those looking for one of the best cuts they’ll have.
  • Cafe Nero – full disclosure, it’s a coffee shop franchise but honestly has one of the best cappuccinos I’ve had while visiting London. Not knocking London Coffee Houses (they were great) but I understand why this place does so well.
